Money mate.

Sell more shirts for more money. Also The blues may play in white a little more out in China and Hong Kong because of the heat. **thumbup

Blues made loads of money in 07/08 on shirt sales, and possibly even more this season.

It also gives the chinese and fans over here more options on a shirt that they would wear out.

Very good marketing imo

Yeah we'll likely have a red third kit, for the games against Wigan, West Brom and Blackburn at least.

This isn't aimed at anyone in particular, but it annoys that whenever a third kit is mentioned with most football fans, the "clubs trying to make money from their fan's" always is brought up.

It isn't this new modern thing designed to fleece fans as the media would like to have people believe. Clubs have had third kits for years and years, believe it or not.

We had our first one in 1972. Yes, 1972, "the German flag" kit. Long before the sales of replica kits.

It's a myth.

Teams do need three football kits. My rubbish local Sunday morning team, had an away game a few months back. We have a red home kit, and a blue away kit. We turned up at the game only to realise that the opposition wear red and blue stripes. If we would have had a white third kit, it wouldn't have been a problem.

It's like with Blues, the past two seasons, we have had to use an "emergency third kit" because we went into the season with only a home and away kit. In 2008-2009 at Sheffield Wednesday and Reading, and last season at Chelsea.

In that case why not think ahead, knowing we will be playing blackburn next season, it is obvious we will need a kit that does'nt clash eg. red or yellow.

If blackpool hadn't got promoted would wolves have just one kit as they would have been the only team in the prem to play in orange

They would need another kit because they may need it in cup games
